Our Foundation

26th November, 2021

Inspired by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s seminal work, Annihilation of Caste (1936), the Centre for Annihilation of Caste was founded on 26th November, 2021.

15th May, 1936

Annihilation of Caste (1936) was a speech prepared by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for the 1936 Annual Conference of the Jat-Pat-Todak Mandal of Lahore. However, it was not delivered owing to the cancellation of the conference by the reception committee on the ground that the views expressed in the speech would be unbearable to the conference. Later, it was published by Dr. Ambedkar on 15th May, 1936.

Our Motto

Let’s annihilate caste before it annihilates us!

Meaning of Motto

Our motto embodies our conviction that the curse of caste can and must be eradicated through legal and policy reforms before it destroys the fraternity of our great nation — India.

Act of Annihilation

The phrase “let’s annihilate caste” in our motto is a call to all right-minded individuals to annihilate anything and everything even remotely linked to caste. No caste identity. No caste pride. No caste whatsoever.

Threat of Time

The phrase “before it annihilates us” in our motto highlights the critical time limit within which the annihilation of caste must be achieved. Otherwise, it will be we, as a nation, who stand annihilated.

Our Work

Policy Problems to Policy Proposals

We identify and investigate policy problems so as to suggest and advocate policy proposals.

Disclosing Loopholes to Closing Loopholes

We disclose legal loopholes so as to close them once and for all.

Litigation to Legislation

We influence legislation and legislators so as to avoid litigatorial prejudice.

Salvation to Annihilation

We perpetuate the annihilation of caste so as to prevent the salvation of casteism.

Our Mission

Year 2036

The year 2036 will be of immense significance to us, as it marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of Dr. Ambedkar’s seminal work, Annihilation of Caste (1936).

Mission 2036

Our mission is to effectively annihilate caste and caste-based discrimination by the year 2036. No further rationalisation of the reservation policy will be permitted until this goal is realised. This act of annihilation will be our tribute to Dr. Ambedkar.

Annihilation of Caste Act

We are striving for the enactment of an omnibus law titled the “Annihilation of Caste Act” as a legislative pathway to annihilate the caste system and prevent its subsequent salvation. This serves as our principal policy proposal for every policy problem involving caste.
