Annihilation Amendment
Constitutionalising the Annihilation of Caste
What is the Annihilation Amendment?

The Annihilation Amendment is an advocacy initiative of the Centre for Annihilation of Caste calling for the amendment of Article 17 of the Constitution of India to substitute the existing “Abolition of Untouchability” with the “Annihilation of Caste”. This, together with the implementing legislation titled the “Annihilation of Caste Act”, would constitute a legislative package for the annihilation of caste. Without this, the statutory annihilation would lack the requisite constitutional mandate.
